Undisguised Horror
The author, a peasant
from the Balkans, had delirium in which bears, rats and witches threaten
him; the vivid festival scene could resemble folk art. The figure on the
right, bearing a tail, plays in instrument shaped like a disform child.
This
painting was produced by an anonymous mental patient and is part of a collection
"Though This Be Madness", Thames & Hudson, London, 1961.
